yes you cut it off, you won't even need any of it., the only part you need is the battery tray compartment.

 

Yea cut it off you dont need it . And no, no mods to the kit.

I put the hotbodies undertail on my 03, as I probably mentioned, and right now my bike is torn down with all fairings/cowls removed. If you want I can take some pictures of how its supposed to look and hold my undertailpanel up there for reference. Let me know what you need a picture of. I even have a few that I took this week that might help.

 

Hey, yeah still kinda working on it. I cut somemore of the stock fender and now i am waiting for the parts to get back from paint. I WOULD LOVE SOME PICTURES!!!!!! Anything you can send me that would show how much you cut from the stock fenders and how it looks installed would be great! Thanks very much!!!

 

If you want to see how mine looks installed just click my name and search my old posts for when I did my undertail. I try to be pretty detailed for just such an occaision as yours. Matter of fact if you look through my old posts you might see the pictures you need.
