Default Fender Eliminator Hell

Ok so maybe not that bad but I am having the worst experience installing this damn fender eliminator I purchased from ebay. It is a Hotbodies Style eliminator kit for my 2001 F4i. Here is the link for the auction

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&viewitem=

To make a long story short, I had to work without instructions for a while because the seller never sent them and but now that I have them, they are still unclear. I have searched the forums but still haven't found the help I need ( think its because it was easy for everyone else but me). I have cut what I could completely make 100% sure that I was suppose to, but now I am stuck. I also can't figure out for the life of me how to get the lock off the stock fender.

I have included some pictures of what I have done already, but could someone be so kind as to show me what else needs to trimmed, I would hate to take off too much. Sorry the pictures aren't that great, but my camera is dead, hate to use my camera phone. Thanks a lot for all your help!

they have the instructions on www.hotbodies.com, as for your lock there is a metal clip that bends to hold it in, bend it back to take it off.

Yea i bought the same one. maybe i can be some help ,well what i did was i cutted mine all the way to the batery box just so the batery can still have a compartment to be in, but remember cut it kinda round so that you still have one stock hole on each side , i think theres a total of 6 holes 3 on each side eliminate the4 and keep the 2 near the batery so you can bolt it to the rear fairing.

And for the lock take off the brass bracket and get a new one. or do what i did and zip tie the cord to the frame.

Hey repyosol,

How does yours look, did you have to do any mods on the undertail itself? Thanks for the tips!!

I put a hotbodies on my 03. Took forever but I also took my time cutting. If I remember correctly you don't really need to worry about cutting too much as long as you cut in the correct places or along the correct lines I should say. You also want to cut equal amounts from both sides as this will affect the fit of the piece once its all back together. Maybe fit it all back together and make sure its even and not too snug on one side before you screw everything back together.

Take your time wiring the tailights as well. Good luck, you'll get it.

A dremel style cut of wheel works great for the tight spots. A hacksaw also works for cutting the longer lines.

I used an angle grinder for the bigger areas and then used my dremel to get the fine edges and sand em down
