Default Fender Elim. Question

I just stayed up all last night making and installing the home made fender eliminator kit. Everything turned out good. The only problem I am having is trying to get the lock to work. I know it has to be pulled tight to make the cable to work but I just cant seem to get it to work smoothly and properly. If anyone has any tips or tricks let me know. Or if you installed this kit yourself tell me what you did to get the lock to work. Thanks guys.

Is your lock assembly secure, or does it move around? Make sure the "C" clip is attached properly to keep the whole assembly together and in place. My lock is behind the plate and the key goes in from the bottom...is yours the same?

The lock dosn't spin around when I turn the key but it does wiggle a little bit. The clip dosn't hold the lock assembly tight against the metal but it dosn't fall out or anything like that. The lock is mounted behind my license plate and I do incert the key from the bottom.

when I did my undertail there was only a hole for the lock assembly, no notch or anything to keep it in place. I literally poured epoxy all over it and held it for 15 min until it dried.
