Umm what do air fuel ratio adjusting programmers do for the powerband? Powerband is dictated by cylinder head and intake port volumes, compression ratio and camshaft selection.

F4i's and RR's have never shared engines. 03-04 RR engines are almost identical to 05-06 RR's.

kinda wanted to stay out of this thread because the OP isn't coming back.
but if you are wanting a used RR get an 07+, its lighter, newer engine bigger throttle bodies (i think), otherwise all the reasons are here for the f4i.
IMO the perks of the f4i are greater than what the 03-06 RR has to offer.

I haven't looked at the power curve.. but I'm assuming you hit max HP earlier and hold it a little longer. Funny thing is most manufacturers aim at hitting max HP period.

There was a shootup comparison between 600cc bikes in last months super streetbike or cycleworld something. The 600rr was the weakest, but also the lightest. The 675 Daytona got top honors.. I believe the Suzuki GSX-R600 took 2nd.. (The Daytona was the clear winner but had 675cc while all the rest had 600cc).
Actually the 2007/2008 has more power then the 2005/2006 model.

Most people will tell you to look at the 2007/2008 model. In 2009 they reduced the horsepower due to emissions control. Most 2007/2008 cbr will pump out between 103-106 whp. Heard of a freak one that had 110 whp stock.

Default difference..

If you aren't planning on shredding the tires most of the time, a properly set up f4i will do just fine with a lot more comfort and less cost in the long run.

I've been thinking of getting an 600RR recently just to mix things up. If an 07/08 is out my price range, I was leaning towards that first year (03). I heard it has more power but is slightly heavier than the 04-06? '05 is when they started doing the inverted forks that are adjustable but that doesn't really interest me too much. Most of buddies who had/have 600RRs have experience only with the '03 or '07 models. Thoughts?

I think everyone is getting information from wikipedia. The 2005/2006 have significantly more power than the 2003/2004 model. Literally 5-7whp, let alone torque. Look up stock dyno runs.
