RE: f4i too high
the bike i sat on was a brand new 2005 f4i on the show room floor....is it possible the spring just hasn't been used enough to compress like it shoul under my weight? but yeah it wasn't really tip toes it was about half foot with both feet on the ground...the 600rr it as sitting next to might have been used because it did sit lower than the f4i i was sitting on...thank you for ur comments and advice

RE: f4i too high
I've met riders who are 5'6" and can ride a stock height F4i. If you don't feel comfortable, try shaving the seat, adjusting the suspension so it lowers when weighted, etc. Use the lowering link as a last resort since it can adversely effect the steering dynamics of the machine. So long as it's not pushed hard or a track bike, I guess it would be okay, but I have zero experience with lowering links. Good luck!

RE: f4i too high
I'm 5'7" can't flat foot and '05 F4i is my first bike. i thought it'd be a big problem, but so far the only problem I've had was backing her up in my parking space without the right shoes on and tipped her over. (I currently have some boots I wear when riding with a slight wedge that helps, but was wearing basic sneakers when I moved her that time.) And I'm pretty much on only the ***** of my feet.
I'd take Pitsvtec's advice and get some boots with a lift in them if you want to feel more comfortable, but barely tip toed shouldn't be a big problem. Advice that was given to me was to try riding a while as is before making modifications being that it's your first bike. You mostly need only 1 foot on the ground when you stop (other foot on brake) and since you're not totally tip toed, the bike should be stable with only the 1 foot.
If I can hold the weight being 125 lbs, I'm sure you'll be fine without lowering the bike.

I'm not mean...simply stating a fact....if I'm 5'2" and have 2.75 inch boots on and don't have a problem, it's not the height at that point, it's the confidence in yourself. I'm sarcastic....most know that....sheeshh...
