thats hot, love what u did.
i would do the rear tail conversion, but i like the truck space i get with the banana.

did the swing arm require crazy fabrication or was it pretty much plug and play?

The swingarm was pretty much plug and play except for needing to fabricate bushings to use the F4i Rear Wheel. The 600rr rear axle is 22mm if I remember correctly and the F4i rear axle is 20mm so you need to make spacers to eat the difference. You also need to grind down the brake disc side bearing spacer a few thousands of an inch. Other than that it's direct bolt up. I have some links saved on my home computer that spells it out completely including all the measurements and specifications for the bushings and spacers. If you’re interested PM me and once I'm home I’ll send you the links.

Man you've made hell of job with this modification. I would personal make tail higher, why did you make it so low? You like it that way or you're have some difficulties?

Have you considered just doing a banana seat to split-seat ('01-03 F4i) conversion? The split-seat conversion is basically a swap w/ only minor adjustments. It would get you the split seats & look you want but w/ less trouble. Its really an easy swap, whereas the RR swap will require more work. Just putting the option out there for you.

I'm already have F4i-sport, but tail and rear end from Hornet 03-06 looks better, and it's little bit higher and prettier than standard F4 sport. So I'm thinking about that possibility.

I used a stock F4i subframe and then modified it to do my RR tail conversion so the tail height stayed pretty much unchanged from the banana seat setup. In order to get the tail any higher it would require making a custom subframe like OzF4i did. I don't know how to weld so that was not an option for me.

Like gotcbr said doing a split seat swap would be much less trouble and require very little fabrication and I had originally explored that option. The deciding factor for me was cost. Since the split seat subframes are in high demand they can get pricey and I wanted to stick to a small budget. The 01-03 split seat subframe alone probably would have cost me almost as much as I spent doing my entire conversion. Which ever path you choose good luck and if you have any questions feel free to ask

Understood. Nothing wrong w/ that. :-) Look forward to your decision & approach.

never pay too much.. a brand new frame cost $1,137, and a split seat subframe cost $284
however for a OEM brand new rear cowl you are looking at $321, better off to buy a full aftermarket fairing set.

I wanted to test my skills and challange myself, plus I already owned my F4i outright and didn't want to lay out the money for a diffrent bike that I would just want to mod anyway.

I did the F4i - 600RR swingarm conversion it was pretty easy, I sourced all my parts from eBay. I did all the work myself and start to finish probably spent in the neighborhood of $150 - $200.

I also did a custom tail swap using a 03-04 600RR race tail you can see my write up on it here https://cbrforum.com/forum/f4i-main-...oughts-137376/ . Again most of my parts were sourced from eBay. I did 100% of the work myself in the garage. Initial cost was probably in the $200 range including all the materials but after selling my old parts (subframe, seat, fairing etc) it was basically free since I made all my money back plus some.

Here is a picture of the final product.

I love seeing that bike
Its gorgeous. You did a great job with it
Well done
