I feel better about not going all the way down to 2nd anymore. I just like that sweet 7-8K+ rpm zone when rest of the traffic turns into a blurr behind me and bike really starts to pull. What can I say! I am just addicted to this high rpm rush now and 3rd gear at 60-70 mph gets me there :-)

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

Once I figured out what wires I needed to splice into it was a breeze really. And programming only took 5mins..

I ride a lot of twisties which require double-yellow passes. A lot of them, sometimes with opposing traffic in site. I don't think I've ever snicked down to 2nd, unless the traffic in front is really slow.

The sweet part of the torque curves starts around 7K or so, as you've noted. Give it all the fuel and air it can take, and brother, that F4i will haul. For normal passing on freeways and non-double yellow, you don't need as much.

On the street, I don't crank it to 14K, mainly because of noise. I try to be as fast as I can, but as quiet as I can, too.
