You guys are funny. Talk all the internet sh*t you want, until you come down here and see what Im saying is true thats all it is, talk. Yes on my rides to and from work I accelerate slow. I shift at 4000rpm and am in 6th gear by 45-50mph, all the time. Canyon runs and track days are different, and then mileage drops to 25-30. So maybe it isen't I lie and ride slow, its you guys ride like bats out of hell almost 100% of the time and therefor get crap mileage eh? I also have a 100% stock bike engine and gearing wise except for the slip on.

DonnyBrago- I am correct about the k&n on an F4i. Have you done back to back dyno runs with a stock and k&n filter or are you talking only about what you've read on the internet?

I'm with boreandstroked on this one. I get between 45-50 mpg riding easy on the freeway. Engine and gearing is stock, a slip-on is the only aftermarket product on my bike. When I had a -1 front sprocket the milage dropped to the mid 30s if I remember correctly, switched back to stock gearing three years ago.

I average about 35-40 mpg. Usually reserve kicks in about 150 miles. Most I ever had was when all bars where blinking it showed I made it to 178 miles.

Thats' with K&N, PCIII, +2 rear.
Just had the engine rebuilt and only has 5,5xx miles on it.

And yall are arguing, name calling and chest thumping over gas mileage on a bike... Why?

Seriously, guys no need for all that. I get about 25-30 mpg. But I rarely EVER change gear below 7k rpm. So yes, I sometimes don't even get out of 1st gear. But ya know what?

Does she pull like she's supposed to? Yes. Does she go as fast as she's supposed to? Yes. Does it only cost about $15 to fill her up? Yes

Then its no big deal. Capiche?

heres my mpg on this issue. 01 f4i power commander, pipe, k&n, rest stock oil changes 300miles ago
Fills : Calculated MPG (distance/gal to fill)
tank 1: 44mpg
tank 2: 41mpg
tank 3: 43mpg

my numbers are consistant. idk how you people get such off numbers.

01 two bros slip on. As far as I know stock. My 300 lb jiggly butt riding to work mainly turnpike I get about 120-130 out of a tank. I also have a very loose ticking chain, cctl that ticks, assuming very dirty filter. All of this is getting fixed on Sunday so no bashing about unsafe riding because it has been sitting since I noticed it. And my clutch slips so I barely go over 8k. So I am hoping after some fixing up on the bike, doing some insanity work outs and taking a dump I can hit better mileage haha

I have my 06 stock sprockets and chain, K&N (no real horsepower addition but you can feel better throttle response), and a 2 bros slip on and i regularly get 45 running 91.... i have a friend with a 03 that i ride with that gets the exact same milage.

as to the lil girl fight about how much gas is in the reserve. the reserve (atleast on my bike) is way off when the light comes on. I just removed my tank to get it painted and waited til the reserve light came on to drain it. i filled up a 1.5 gallon container and spilled the rest on myself/floor.

the environment is also a factor in mpg.... uphill, thin air, wet air (humidity), wind resistance... when I ride in a big group and i'm at the end, my mpg is horrible... and i also get light headed from inhaling exhaust.
