I dont know, that does not sound good to me. It sounds right where it should be.
They told you that crap to just let you hear what you wanted to hear. It nothing impressive nor its horrible.
A very standard dyno. F4i have about 112-117 hps. With the energy lose from the clutch, trasmission, chain and wheel it comes to about a 10 hp lose.

Better use a calculator next time you make up numbers like that. [112-117] - 10 = [102-107]. Which is a good 10% (significant) over what it actually is.

To the OP - It's pretty good in that it's right where it's supposed to be for the f4i. Compared to other 600 Supersports, it's low. Most of todays 600 supersports (including the 600rr) are in the 100-115 hp range).

I read in Cycle World (or possibly Sport Rider) magazine a couple years ago that the '03 F4i makes 102 HP (from what I remember). It was in one of their tables at the end of the publication - had over 100 bikes listed with their HP, torque, 1/4 mile and 0-60 times. I will have to find that issue...

Question is is that rear wheel HP or engine HP? Dunno. I would expect 100 HP is average for a stock or slightly modded bike. I'm no expert though.

And zzz11, where exactly do you get your info from? Any of us can just throw numbers out there (myself included) but your statement holds as much truth as alekinci's. Without reference anyone of us can be right.

There are many other sources for dynos, if you search around.

Thanks man... that's exactly what we need to do around here - provide proof/data for our claims. Just like the "arguments" about higher octane fuels, synthetic oils, etc. Good looking out z.

ozmac - Well most people will tell you (and I believe it to be true) that NO, the filter and slip on ALONE didn't do much for you. Right now the pipe and filter are potential energy waiting to be harnessed. However, the addition of a Power Commander will help bring out the best of those few mods that you've done... then you might see the 5-10 HP increase that they claim to give you. That is exactly why I have been contemplating putting a PCIII on my F4i, still a little skeptical though.
