Angry F4i forks??

So this guy pulls out in front of me and I ninja the bike into a barrier and bent the forks. Regardless of whatever happens insurance wise I'm missing out on my favorite season to ride in. So I'm wondering what other forks with trees fit in the f4i frame?? Better than stock would be nice! I'm eyeballing this front end off ebay its a 94 900? Hope I can get some good info

Take a look at CJardine's F4 front end conversion. He's using 1000rr forks. As the F4 & F4i use the same (except for minor interior dif) forks, the application is the same. There's another member here in the F4i section that did the 1000rr front fork conversion as well.

Really tho, the quickest solution is to purchase another set of F4i forks & install 'em. They are more easily found & generally cost less than anything else.

Good luck.

either use F4/F4i forks or convert to inverted. Personally I'd stick with F4i forks and if you want better then put better internals in them. Upgraded stock forks will work better then stock inverted forks.

929rr triple with stem
954rr clamp
then go 1000rr/929rr/954rr/600rr for fork legs is the easiest.
will need wheel, fender, brakes, master cyl, clip ons to complete the swap. be careful on which master cyl you get. on my fork swap the brake lever hit the cables coming out of the housing so I had to put an rc51 housing on it to reroute cables underneath with a 1000rr kill switch. those added to the cost.

would I do it again? no, bit ZX6r fork legs look pretty good on my setup. lol, wasted time and money for gold tubes imo. handling doesn't feel different. I know geometry was changed with the 929rr triple though. length of ZX6r fork is about the same as f4i

That's a lot of great info, thanks! PS the rim and one rotor are bent beyond repair so that's why I'm considering a front end swap. There's a great deal on a 94 900 complete front end on eBay, triple tree, clamp forks wheel w/tire rotors calipers and master c. So if the middle of the tree fits in the f4i maybe with different bearings? It's half as cheap than the only stock f4i forks and rim I can find

Have you taken a close look at the frame? I had an impact that bent the tubes, nothing else, and it took out the frame at the lower race for the head bearings. I tore it down only to find it all busted out inside. Make sure you're good before spending money on parts.
