hi guys new to the forum and just bought an 02 F4i.

one thing i noticed was the rear brake pedal seems awfully weird. on ebay a replacement f4i brake pedal seems to have a slight curve in it compared to the traditional L shape.

not sure is this weird pedal shape normal or is it bent?

can someone provide a picture of the rear brake pedal from a top view?

i have included a badly but hopefully good enough drawing of what im trying to talk about.

A friend of mine and I managed to bend mine back to a more suitable place - it looked about the same as yours. We just used a long pipe. It may help to heat it up a bit before hand, just be slow about it. Don't want to snap the end off

 

interesting interesting... would how hot>? would a blow dryer do the trick?

 

Nah, you'd need something with some serious heat to help soften the metal. Like a blow torch.

 

hmmmm is heat needed or can i just use the long pole that comes off my floor jack? haha (things like a 4 feet long)

 

A mapp or propane torch should be enough heat and cost very little. I recommend taking it off the bike before heating it up.

 

You don't need to heat it up, we didn't when we bent mine, but it'll make it much easier.

 

Take it off, throw it up in a vice and get that pipe on the end of it.
