Default F4i Brake Feel

I just installed front SS lines and after riding around only a little bit, it feels like my brakes are soft. I have new pads, new Honda DOT 4 fluid, and pretty sure I bled the lines properly (going to check that this weekend), but the initial bite isn't very strong. I gotta pull the lever farther than I like to get a good grip, otherwise the braking power isn't strong.

I only putted around to maybe 20-30 mph but the feeling wasn't what I wanted. Any suggestions for fixing this? I thought about a new MC but figure I'd try cheaper fixes first.

If it was soft before then I "could" be your MC. In my case I found I had an airleak around the threads of the right caliper, so when I thought I was bleedingm, air was seeping in. It's a common issue. Try some teflon tape, wrap 1-2 turns counter-clockwise. Bleed again.

FWIW- I wouldn't have found the airleak if I didn't have a mity-vac. The gauge slowly showing reduced vacuum told the story of where the leak was.

When I put my lines on I put thread sealing tape on all my bleeder screws but I noticed that on the right hand caliper I would still get air bubbles with my Mityvac. I bled just that one regurarly after that and I saw no bubbles. My Mityvac is the cheap one that didn't come with a gauge so I cannot check the vacuum.

Try reducing the opening of the bleeder screw to absoulute minimum.

I just bled my front brakes today and the left one flowed real well filled up the whole hose with my mity vac. The right one did not, and it seemed to bubble up inside the hose after i closed it. So your saying i should take the bleeder off and teflon tape it? Should i bleed again afterwords or will i be alright? If thats the case ill just do both bleeders.

I did take it for a ride afterwords and it felt great. Should i mess with it just in case or should i leave it?

try bleeding it without the mityvac and see if you get anymore bubbles. mine went away instantly when i bled the old fashioned way.

I will do that, probably on saturday when i have nothing to do. Ill get some teflon tape too and just redo it. I bought 2 bottles of Honda brake fluid. I forgot to take the diaphram out and was wondering why i was bleeding and getting no fluid.

Remove the bleed screw and teflon it. Hoping and praying will not solve your problem.

I hear you on the diaphram. I tried bleeding my brakes for almost an hour before i realized that thing wasn't letting any brake fluid out.
