Dominator slip on
Hey,looking for some information;I’m thinking of buying a slip on from Dominator exhausts for my 2001 CBR600 F4i,but by removing the original silencer and link pipe,am I also removing the catalytic converter,if this is the case, will the bike still run smoothly, and will it damage the engine without the original cat, thanks!

Hi Peter, must admit my mind was in a different place from the title of your post!! I was thinking it was a new form of 'protection'!
What machine are you talking about???
As an initial response, just the can, no real impact but with the cat as well, that might cause issues.

The bike is a CBR600 F4i,and I want to replace just the stock silencer and link pipe. There is a threaded boss on the Dominators link pipe, any idea what that is for,I’m guessing it’s for an emissions probe or sensor!

Hi Peter, I couldn't help myself! lol
The threaded boss is for the O2 sensor.
The F4i does not have a cat.
Should not be a problem replacing the link pipe and silencer as it is really like for like with probably a better flowing silencer.
Most of the control is done by the down pipes.
If you go onto change the air filter for a K&N or similar then you might start running into fueling issues, at that point I would recommend a power Commander and get the bike mapped.
Cheers

The cat was in the mid pipe on my 06 F4i, which in the US was a CA model for emissions except for the charcoal canister.
Yes, you can replace the mid pipe and muffler, no it won't hurt the bike. The threaded part is for an O2 sensor, which in the US only came on CA models and all 2006 models. If you don't have one then you just screw a plug into the hole.
