Do sprockets make the bike faster?

in that aspect yes, acceleration will be faster, thus 60' times faster, but by the 1/4 mile the added umph maybe pooped out lol.

I went -1 in the front, +2 in the back, and I personally feel that the bike should have come from the factory this way. In first the wheel comes up easily under acceleration, and 2nd can get it up too from the right spot in its powerband. The feeling of low end torque is AWESOME compared to stock gearing.

Completely agree with going -1/+2 or some variation of that...The stock gearing is just middle of the road..works for everyone type of ratio...switching sprockets with put the power in the speed range you need it. if i rode more highway i would probably even go +1 on the front to make 6th a little lower at 75mph..but -1/+2 will make the wheel lift easier in first, but if you are good with your throttle you shouldn't have to worry about it.

I have -1/+2 and its all about throttle control, I can make it come up under hard acceleration or I can accelerate hard and keep my wheel on the ground. If I "blip" the throttle in 1st the wheel basically comes up no matter what though haha but at the same time thats throttle control too.
To answer your question, yes there is a noticable difference in acceleration
