Did i pay too much??
I paid $5000.00 for a 2002 Cbr f4i in mint condition. It has 21k on it but the bike is in great shape i had looked around and even saw at a bike shop similar bikes selling for 7K. Did i pay too much? How many more years if i take really good care of it can i expect from a bike like this. Im 32 now and i think my next bike will be a ducati monster when im 40 LOL.
Thanks to everyone here you guys have really been great at answering questions to a newbie rider!!

RE: Did i pay too much??
I paid that for a virtually brand new 2006 with 1000 miles on it. YES..you paid too much.
But, what's done is done. You won't get that money back. Go out and ride and enjoy your bike. One member up here rolled 100,000 miles on his F4i a few months ago and says it still rides like the day he bought it brand new.
Take care of the bike like it should be and it will probably be going long after you've moved on to something else. Might want to look at a valve adjustment though if it's not been done before. Might want to consider a radiator fluid change as well in MY opinion. MAYBE a spark plug change...but someone else might want to comment on that. I would at least pull the plugs and look at them if they are original plugs.
By the way...I absolutely love the look of the 2002 yellow F4i's. And you have the split seat...somethingA LOT of us F4i riders would love to have. Be happy with your bike and just go enjoy riding it. :-)

RE: Did i pay too much??
I paid $3800 - ebay - sight unseen (OK basic pictures) for same bike - dropped gently once on the right (all original fairings, but a few scratches). - I figured everyone says you'll drop it at some time anyways, I'll take the savings in advance... - 16000 miles. - They had a used '01 White/Red at our dealer they wouldn't let go (end of season) for less than $5300. - MINT shape, but only 5000 miles...
You're a bit high on it, but what's done is done - they're great bikes, and Yellow/Black is the tops (Looks better thanthe newer yellow/silver ones IMHO)
1st bike at 32? (Same here) - Damn - why didn't I try out this means of transport 10 years ago??? - I'll keep kicking myself on that one...

RE: Did i pay too much??
Paid 5 Grand for my 2005 F4i with 2500 miles on it....slight scuffing on the starter motor cover and I replaced one of the mirrors that had some scuffs. I think I got a great deal based on the prices I have seen. Got the going into winter discount also...probably would have been a grand more in the spring
Try 42 for your first bike! [8D] Well 41 but 42 for my first SS bike
