ya its all about the bike resale market. Cant speak on anyone elses city but mine and people ask for ALOT more than what kbb says its worth. kbb doesnt seem to be as reliable for bikes like it is for cars, as far as seeing what they say its worth and what people are actually paying.

eh...not trying to hijack, but i'm close to purchasing an '06 f4i at a local Honda dealer for $7,699.99 excluding all the fees and stuff that tag along. It is dropped from a tagged '$8,499.99.' Is this a realistic price to pay for the bike, being that it has 0 miles on it and never ridden?

No its not a fair price. Its a 3 yr old bike. I'd give them $7500 out the door for it but no more.

That's what i'd prefer! They're saying $8,710 with fees an taxes and all if I buy it outright and $11,070 if I finance it...kind of ridiculous

Does that include underbody coating? j/k That`s why they're called "stealerships". I was saving up to buy a bike outright but ran out of patience and financed it. Went to three dealerships until I found a decent deal on a used bike (lesser of three evils). Had a $2500 down-payment which I think helped tremendously.

This thread has officially been "jacked". Lol

So I understand the simple concept of rockets depreciating fast and not holding their value BUT in people's opinions, when is it time to sell?

Last season I boughtan 01 f4i all stock and only 4,000 miles on it-mint!! Right now it's worth 3,800 and i paid 500 more for it. From the more experienced riders in here-will the depreciation taper off a little more and the value not drop so much from year to year? just a thought

i doubt you will see any more of a huge decrees in the value of the bike. i would keep it unless your looking for a different style of bike. low millage bikes are more desirable becuase the amount of abuse they have seen and the likely hood of it being involved in an accident are greatly diminished. how ever the dont seem to bring a whole lot of extra money. i wouldnt count on the gas being back op to 4 dollars in the next year or two either and even if it does dont expect to see a huge price increase in your bike mabe a few 100 bucks.

For that much I you can get a 600RR here. And maybe a used 1krr.

Some '08 600rr's and 1000rr's were priced at just over $8k so I don't know why this f4i gets such a price tag...
To add, they said that numerous people have backed out of purchasing this f4i, after having committed to do so. Wouldn't that bring the price down, especially 3 years later?
