Custom F4i/1000rr tail mod
#32
subframe is completely untouched. this is just a cosmetic job, plastic welded the two tails together. sorry i haven't taken any pictures yet. once i put the thing back together, i started riding it all weekend long and didn't stop til tuesday. once the sun comes back out, i will take final pictures.

long overdue...but better late than never.
i still need to unwrap the rear seat and re-foam it so the contours of the seat sit flush with the 1000 tail. and the undertail is makeshift for now, but good enough. when i have more time i'll fab a better undertail. hope you guys like it, i know i do.

First off, the look is awesome. I really like the vents, cause they kinda put the bike together with the vents in the front. Maybe if you added silver mesh to the front vents.............
Secondly, I have a question about the construction. I like to pretend that I have plastic welded before, but really, I have just melted cracked fairings back together with a soldering iron. Pretty ghetto and it takes a while and is never very strong. I noticed from one of the pictures that you have some kind of fiber mat on the inside of the seams. Did you melt the pieces together then do the mat on the back? Just wondering, cause I want to mod this catalyst composites tail. I think I would have to cut and weld like you did.
