crash cages

Default crash cages

Hey i uwed to ride back in 95,stopped for awhile,and now i got an f4i to start riding again.i see poeple with crash cages on their bikes but they dont have their fairings on,doea anyone make any crash cages that can be put on over the fairings?

I have seen them over fairings. You are more than likely looking at a stunters bike.

Maybe.......but these were different,they looked like they came from the of the bike

Yea, was gonna say. It really depends on what cage you want and how big etc. Some are obviously not going to work.

Where can i find a set and how much do they normally cost,and where can i see more pictures?

Just do the playdoh method and cut the holes in the fairings where they attach. I can't see any reason why you couldn't have a cage with fairings if you did it this way. I put my frame sliders on using the playdoh method and my holes were dead center. If you make the holes half an inch bigger in diameter than your cage-bar/slider and clean it up with windshield wiper tubing it looks real sharp. Here's mine.

I think this is the guide I used. Basically you use playdoh to figure out where EXACTLY to drill your pilot holes and it works like a charm. I know I looked at several different guides though so google around. You'll probably find more guides about frame sliders than cages but I think the info would be useful.
