Coolant boiling questions.
Today I was riding home from school, its about a 30 mile drive mostly on the highway. I parked my bike and put it in the garage and heard some boiling noises. I take a look at the coolant reserve and it is boiling like crazy for a few minutes. It's about 95 degrees here. I was wondering if this was normal or not. Is there something wrong with my bike that I dont know about?If I stay at a stop for about 2-3 minutes the temperature goes up to nearly 230, but the fan does come on. Any suggestions on what I should do if I do need to do something?

The highest I've ever seen mine was231but just longenough for it to flash on the readout then drop back to 229 and down from there with the fans going full speed. It was 103 outside and I was in rush hour stop and go traffic. But no boiling or anything like that. You should get that looked at I would think. Maybe you need to adjust the coolant to water ratio???

are you sure it was in fact boiling or was it just coolant rushing from the radiator to the overflow? coolant will expand with heat and what's in the radiator gets pushed out to the overflow.

It looked like it was bubbling as if you had water boiling on a stove, but I could be wrong. Maybe I should flush and change the coolant? Is it easy to do? Can anyone can tell me how to do it?

what do you have in there? pure water? you have something "impure" in your coolent system if your temperature is normal and this is happening.
my buddy had this same thing happen to him last week. his temperature was normal, but it was boiling over. when he flushed it, it was a nasty rust color (becaue it was rusted).
he took it on the track and had to have pure water in the thing. he forgot about it for like 4 months, and this happened to him.
put the factory reccomended coolent in your bike if that is the case... if you do have the factory reccomended coolent in your bike, then check for a bolt or screw or something in the bottom of your overflow tank.
