Clutch cable problem
The first time I took my right side fairing off, I noticed that the clutch cable sleeve was worn through a little bit. Even though I haven't had any problems with my clutch yet, I figured I'd replace the cable just for peace of mind.
My main question is, as you may be able to see, there is a kind of bend/kink in the clutch cable. I wondered if the guy I bought it from had the clutch engaged when it fell on its right side, so it would kink the cable? It looks like the existing cable's sleeve was worn through by typical use of the clutch. Are there any suggestions as to how I can keep this from happening with my new clutch cable? Or would you suppose that it only wore through because of the kink?
Any other things I should know of when I install my new clutch cable? I bought a Honda OEM one. It seems to be pre-lubricated, but should I lube it myself as well? I have some white lithium grease and WD-40. Would either of these suffice?

There's a cable lube but I'd imagine that the white lithium would work fine. WD probably would too, but it won't tack up.

RE: Clutch cable problem
pssss...you want something that will come out the other side when you first spray into it, then dry out a bit and tack up inside.
WL will not come out the other end as it's not runny at all...WD40 shouldn't be used as a grease like lubricant.
if you can get some cable lube, cool.
