Default Clutch cable length

whats up guys,
anyone else have this problem when buying clutch cable? I've bought 3 different clutch cables one from amazon, ebay and also wemoto.com and they all seem to be to long compared to the old stock one. my bike is a 2002 model f4i .
I'm routing it the exact same way as the last cable, it seems like the metal part at the end of the clutch cable with the two washers for course adjustment at the engine seems to be too long the further back i adjust it to tighten the cable part at the clutch lever the looser the cable gets where its almost gonna pop out near the engine. so i dunno how can all 3 cables be wrong? I havent ziptied it to the frame but the last cable was only ziptied at one point which would make no difference in the tightness of the cable.
its resulting in loads of free play at the clutch lever and pisses me off when tryna shift.
any help appreciated thanks guys

Could be just the amount of play your giving it at the engine end, have you got the manual for it

So this is how far i have to adjust the cable at the engine. basically as far as it can go to get any sort of pressure from the clutch lever. And i have to adjust the clutch lever as far out as possible to get any tension aswell i adjusted the play at the engine as far left and right as it could go and this was the only way i could get tension? I ziptied it down aswell to tr make it tighter also but making no difference. any help? it has to be the cable length i'm thinking.

Hi, that adjustment on the engine side doesnt look right, have you had the clutch cover off, or was it just a cable change
