Changing a throttle cable?
Anyone done this? Does the fuel injection need to be disconnected? any washers/rubber parts that need to be bought? any known PITAs?
The service manual only talks about taking off the entire throttle body, so I'm unsure as to what all I'll have to disconnect/depressurize.

to depressurize, remove the fuel pump fuse or disconnect pump and start the engine. disconnect negative batt terminal. remove tank and air box. then you can get to and remove the t/b's. from there you'll have access to the throttle cable for fanagling and eventual removal. no real pita's. just make sure everything is disconnected and remember where everything goes. good luck sir
thanks for the info glacier.
Tahoe_sc, please elaborate? no tank/airbox/throttle body removal? [&:]
I just need to replace 1 cable. Quicker fixes are welcome since I need it track ready soon

You have to remove the airbox, but a good idea for the tank to avoid complete removal is to pivot the tank and hold it with bungees, heres a picture

removing tanks is such a pain with a fuel injected bike.

i meant i didn't have to depressurize, etc. i still had to remove the air box to do it and whatever was on top to get to it. i held the thank up with some rope to the tail. if you have lots of gas, be careful, it'll come out.
