Default Chain Oilers

Hello Riders,

I'm considering installing a chain oiler on my '02 F4 i.

Do any of you have experience with either the Scottoiler or Acumen chain oilers?

Can you suggest a source for a comparison test for these oilers?

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Sandy

Just spray chain lube or chain wax on it while you have it on a stand and thats good enough. Thats what I do.

where do you get the white/clearish chain lube that comes on the chain when you buy a new chain?
i have chain grease but i dont like putting it on there because it sprays black grease all over the bottom of my fairings

I use Dupont Teflon spray...It's at Lowe's for like 5$ a can, and it drys in like 30minutes and doesn't sling. I use it because its good, not because its cheap.

+1 On the Dupont Teflon for chains. Goes on wet, then dries to a wax type lube with no fling.
My back slidding glass door used to be a pain to open; sprayed some of that stuff on the rollers and now it slides like butter. That's my independent test analysis

Automatic chain oilers are only what the name implies - just oilers. You still need to inspect, clean and adjust the chain periodically. Also, do not take the reservoir for granted - many people run out of oil and never notice, hence causing more wear to the chain. I can however see the point when touring / long distance riding.
