Default Chain Oilers

Hello Riders,

I'm considering installing a chain oiler on my '02 F4 i.

Do any of you have experience with either the Scottoiler or Acumen chain oilers?

Can you suggest a source for a comparison test for these oilers?

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Just spray chain lube or chain wax on it while you have it on a stand and thats good enough. Thats what I do.

where do you get the white/clearish chain lube that comes on the chain when you buy a new chain?
i have chain grease but i dont like putting it on there because it sprays black grease all over the bottom of my fairings

I use Dupont Teflon spray...It's at Lowe's for like 5$ a can, and it drys in like 30minutes and doesn't sling. I use it because its good, not because its cheap.

+1 On the Dupont Teflon for chains. Goes on wet, then dries to a wax type lube with no fling.
My back slidding glass door used to be a pain to open; sprayed some of that stuff on the rollers and now it slides like butter. That's my independent test analysis

dupont kicks serious ***!! it cleans and lubes all in one!! does not fling, and repells dirt longer than most chain lubes

Automatic chain oilers are only what the name implies - just oilers. You still need to inspect, clean and adjust the chain periodically. Also, do not take the reservoir for granted - many people run out of oil and never notice, hence causing more wear to the chain. I can however see the point when touring / long distance riding.

Which section of the store did you find this at so I dont spend 30 mins looking for it? Thanks!

I check my manhood at the door and ask for help. Haha. In Brewer, Maine (i know this is no help to you) it is near the tools in th front of the store. It had its on display stand.
