Default Chain for F4i

Hey guys,

I'm a newbie-- just bought a 2001 F4i about a month ago and completed my MSF course yesterday!

I've noticed that my chain clicks whenever I started it up in the morning and put it in gear.

The bike has 29k miles on it so I figured I need to buy a new chain.

What kind of chain should I buy? By this, I guess I mean the size??? Thanks for the help guys!!!

yea 525...as far as # of links, you're going to have to see what sprocket size you have...if the previous guy changed it...then it won't be stock amount...

also, i personally use nothing but DID, i've never heard any horror stories of DID, but the others...yes...and personally experienced some nastiness with another chain company...

You mentioned a click when you put it in gear. Seems like the characteristic 1st gear Honda Click. Are you sure the chain clicks?????

If you need to change out the chain, you will probably need to change out your sprockets also.

I do believe it is the chain that clicks. But it's not only in first gear tho. I lubed it couple weeks ago and it seemed fine but started up again last weekend. The bike has 29k miles on it so I think it'd be better to be on the safe side and get new chain/sprocket.
