Default CCT?

ok just was wondering if the noise one hears when the CCT is going bad sounds like a rattling up near the radiator area. Mine isnt sounding so good, well at least thats what I think it is. Bike has ohhhhh18k on it now. Im sure it could stand replacing. Just wondering if thats what it sounds like?

tell me if this sounds like it! I hear it alot better with my helmet off,, its like a real fast t,t,t,t,t,t,t,t,t,t, but its very vage, almost can't hear it with my helmet on... at first i thought speed o cable, but its electronic, so that threw me for a loop,, anyways, sound like it?

when my cct went bad i could free rev in n bringing the rpms up slowly and at around 5000 it sounded like it was going to blow up lots of ticking. also, sounded like coming from raditor .replaced the motor thinking it was piston slap just to find out it was the cct an easy 70.00 fix.

must a CCT be replaced? and when does it usually go?

i'm hearing the noise now, i've got about 7700Km on it and is it something that I can do myself?

is there anything out there that will do a better job then the stock ones from Honda b/c obviously i do not want to keep changing it every 8000K...

thanks
