CBR600RR Mirrors on a F4i - Anyone Do It?
Thinking of going to a set of integrated turn signal mirrors on my 2002 F4i and I don't like the rubber covered base for those that are offered as a straight swap. (The cover never seems to stay in place, look right......) Looking at the mirrors for the RR models, they appear to be better made and do not have the rubber cover. Is it possible to mount a set of the RR mirrors and 1. Not loose any visibility/function? 2. Mount cleanly to the fairing? Thanks

I really like my alphamoto mirrors w/integrated signal. They look good, visibility is 100x better, and the turn signals are good, although mine aren't lighting up completely possibly due to a relay problem however still visible. I posted a thread with them. I can put up more pictures if you want. Downside is no more hanging the helmet on the mirror bc they stick straight out instead of up at an angle. Second downside is they don't fit through a standard door without folding them in, which for me means re-adjusting them every time I get the bike out.

Did you use the F4i or the RR mirrors? I watched the YouTube vid of the RR install in your thread and liked the design (lack of the rubber cover) much better than the ones offered by alpha moto for the F4i with the rubber cover. If you used the RR mirrors, how well does the base match up with the fairing? Thanks

Here's where I got mine. I'll try to upload pics soon.

Yes, I can see there is no rubber cover on those and I like them. Thanks for the link. Did you use the existing base holes on the fairing or did you modify? Waiting for pics. These are the types with the rubber covers that kept coming up for my searches:

I Have same mirrors for F4i. The holes need to be bored out, at least on my new upper stay that I bought. The wire comes out the side of the metal on the base of the mirror so you need to cut a slot or something to route it under the stay instead of cutting the fairing. So yes, there is slight modification you will have to do. The ones you linked there are similar looking, I cant speak for quality though, probably the same stuff honestly.

Sorry about the quality, I just ran out and took these and it's night. I found one daylight photo from the back too. I can get more daylight pictures tomorrow. This video shows you how to install them the way I did. Drill a hole in your fairing between the two mirror holes for the wire. Dremel a slot in the base of the mirror for the wire to run under it while staying flush to the fairing then run the wire through the hole. I didn't leave my wires as tight as CycleCruza did because I have to fold my mirrors up to park my bike inside and I needed a little extra slack for that so keep that in mind if you park through a normal door.
