Default Cbr600 2001

So as some of you know I was meant to be picking this up on the 10th September, but I got a tax rebate and thought why not. I picked it up Friday just gone and got it home and washed.

There is it next to my daily ride, NSR125 JC22. 13k miles on the clock (Damage is from previous owner). I haven't done my full test yet, waiting till the end of September for pay from work

I'm charging the DSLR now so will get some good close up photos of the damaged parts and list all the plans I have.

Comments welcome.

Carl.

You say 2001, but it looks like either a 2000 F4, or a >= 2004 F4i, due to the silver frame, single piece seat, etc. Wonder how much that differs down in AUS than here in the US.

Euro bike explains the color scheme, frame color, and banana seat.

Doesn't look like it has many miles on it. Is the gearing stock?

Everything is stock, apart from the stickers that were added by the previous owner. I'm the second owner and the mileage sits at 14,774 at the moment. which is very low.

The log book states the bike is a 2001. I'm assuming it's an F4? It's the first of the injected ones I know that. It has a sticker with F1 under the seat though? Confusing. I'll get some more pics of it tomorrow.

Carlos, in the UK we call the "f4i" an F1. It was sold as the F-sport which had the split seat and just the CBR600f which had the banana seat. In 2002 the split seat model was stopped, the banana seat model continued until 2006, in later years though it had **** non adjustable suspension and a few other changes.

So got some more pictures today, I've decided on an R6 tail piece and custom subframe (more than likely a modified F4i subby), taking all the stuff to the welders tomorrow for him to give me a quote. He actually rides an f4 himself so he said he knows what he's doing already lol

Bent forks much?

So thats all the damage.

Ah in that case I have the f1, the sticker under the seat says so and has paint codes and such. I have the banana seat, but with adjustable suspension front and back. Tbh the fairing even says pgm-f1.. SO. I should have gone from that.

Thanks for the info. So the F4I is essentially an F1?

Yeah, although here the number also relates to the year i.e. US F4i is the same as a UK F1, F2, F3...F6 = 2001...2006 and FS1/FS2 = 2001/2002 F sport.

Best of luck with the rebuild! It'll be such a rewarding process when you get to your finished product!
