see if you can polish it the way it is.
If you do end up sanding like this make sure you dont get into the fiber or you will need to resin wipe it again.
If you just want to clear coat it use a grey 3m scotch brite pad. Scuff it up so the entire thing looks dull. Wipe it down with some wax and grease remover. Clear it. Dupont sells door jam/cut in clear in a can and it works awesome. It should be fairly heat resistant as is. Think about how hot your car gets when the sun is beating down on it....
