You're sure the motor is toast?? What did it do?

Just making sure, sometimes jumping to conclusions can be costly! If it is done for, well I'm not sure about other size motor fitting in. Of course anything is possible with enough $$$, just depends on how much you want to spend. I know a buddy of mine blew the motor in his '03 Kawi ZX-6 about a month or so ago. He found a used engine with less than 4k for $875 shipped, and got a shop to install it for $550, so less than $2000 for everything. Of course it would be cheaper if you did the labor yourself. But just make sure the motor really is done before doing anything major

my mechinic said i blew a cylinder or pistonand it would be costly to just fix it. if you can find a used motor it would be more worth it. i was going on the highway and pushing the bike hard then i hearda POP like back fire and then the bike sounded like a harley my friend signaled me to pull over and said he saw a HUGE flame shoot out the exhaust.(i didnt downshift) the bike sounded exactly like a v twin.

Did you and the motor each enjoy a nice relaxing cigarette afterwards?

That's still really vague. I take it you don't have the tools to do the engine diagnostics yourself? If a piston or rings broke up, then the big exhaust flame your friend described should have been followed by blue oil smoke. Same thing if a valve dropped and holed a piston. Heck, you could have something as bad as a blown engine, or as simple as a blown head gasket between two cylinders.

If there was no smoke of any kind, I would suspect the top end first.
