Default Bike stand

How much should I pay for a bike stand? The local shop is trying to charge $120 for the rear one. This is probably a crazy question but I don't want to get ripped off.

depends completely on what brand stand it is, go to indysuperbikes.com if you want to check pricing

pit bull rear stands usually run right at $120 so if its a pit-bull then your not getting ripped off

I just bought a T-Rex rear stand. Got it on ebay for $62.00, shipped. I read alot of good things about it. I works for me just fine. I think you can get the front and rear for around $100.

c.love220<--- With your rear stand, are you using swing arm spools to lift it up or just the rubber ends that are on the stand to lift up the rear?

The 01 f4i doesn't have swing arm spools. Will this be a problemo? Would I need to do any minor fab work?

you just get the stands with the pads on them not the spool attachment. won't be a problem.
as far as spools, if you ever go that route...do like woody and weld tabs under the swingarm...if you tap the swingarm, you run into issues of clearing the pipe unless you have a high mount.

both work great...some feel like they need to have the spools as it's safer...i've had mines for like 4 years and have never had any issues with just the pads and get the bish on in less than 5 seconds.
