I used to have the same problem at one of my old jobs, lucky it never laid over but many times I thought it was going to. Anything larger round then the kickstand base will be fine.. I have 40 pucks laying in my garage I yanked from a Harley cruise. lol

I use a body filler spreader, had a 3 pk laying around .. easily stows away in my tank bag or rear seat for asphalt and sand parking.

Anything solid that will distribute the weight over a broader area will work.

There's nothing wrong with the pavement. Asphaltic Concrete(Asphalt) which is the black stuff that holds the stones together to make pavement, softens up as it's temperature rises. (It starts off as a hot liquid when roads are paved) The weight of the bike on the small area of a kickstand will start to sink in. Asphalt will actually start to melt back to liquid at 140 degrees which is a common temp in the summer.

You should always have something to place the kickstand on while leaving a bike on asphalt on warm days.
