ORIGINAL: 01kwt2000

i just changed mine flushed and replaced with Prestone 50/50 prediluted and now my bike wont go under 211 while riding highway and 222 riding city and 233 (i saw it up there quite some times) while idleing at light. Dont wanna thread jack but anybody knows if theres a wrong way to change coolant or why it could be overheating. thanks in advance
Just throwing this idea out there. You could have air built up in the coolant system, after I do a coolant flush I usually burp the system to try and get out as much air as I possibly can.

Does the water and water wetter combo keep the bike cooler than Enging Ice would?

Plain ethylene glycol, better known as the good old fashoined green antifreeze, works very well in most applications. The only real reason not to use it is perhaps on a track where they only allow water. It raises the boiling point, lowers the freezing point, provides corrosion resistance, and even promotes a little lubrication for the water pump seals. Cooling systems that have been run with plain water for extended periods of time look like they have had lye run through them. The crystalline structure attack on the aluminum is not pretty.
