Default bar end help

I went to change my bar ends today (need to be replaced after someone pushed the bike over) and the one bar end when I turn the allen bolt to loosen it, I can feel the rubber inside turning with the bolt. thus its not getting loose and I cant seem toget it out.So I need some help, any idea or suggestions? btw, its in the throttle side.

Default RE: bar end help

having had to do this as well let me save ya some trouble
the inside of the handlebar is one cylinder with 2 rubber stoppers or dampeners on each end
its got like a rubber washer near the triple clamp then a long metal cylinder (which your bar end connects to) connected to another rubber washer then your bar end thread
the rubber washers have nubs on them that stick out in to holes on your handle bar, helps hold them in place !

My crude representation of what it looks like

[]====[]= -[}

So to sum up there annoying

Sounds like the nubs on yours are gone so you may be able to just pull the whole cylinder out with the old bar end attached :/
The down side to that is the rubber dampeners / washers are not fun to pull out or push back in

hope that helped

I just had to order the handle bar weight b from RonAyers. Looks like when the prev owner had it the throttle bar end got broken and themetal piece where the bar end bolts onto is missing.
