Default ***** on fire!!

wassup everybody. so I've been riding my new to me f4i for the past couple of days. I've had absolutely no problems and I love everything. the only thing that bothers me is that after riding for over 10 minutes, it gets REALLY hot around the tank/frame/seat area. like uncomfortably hot. according the the temp display, my bike's running at the normal operating temps. is this normal? is there something I can't do to fix it? I don't wanna make hard boiled eggs while I'm riding anymore.

ya it's normal especially during the hot summer days. I usually just spread my knees every so often to allow air to flow between the tank and legs to cool off a little.

If you lift the tank up check to see if the padding is still in there or not. This reflects heat off from it getting "too hot" in there. Yes on a really warm days it can almost feel like it burns you

Wearing jeans prevents your legs from touching hot bike parts.

But yea it gets hot as hell, I was out yesterday for only a few minutes and it was 104 degrees here in Maryland, to hot to enjoy riding.

For a quick "crotch cool off", go fill up at a gas station. (While sitting on the bike). The cold gas chills the tank for a few mintues giving you some temporary refreshment. .........hey i enjoy the simple things in life.......

Anybody test these Cooling Vests? Was always curious if they worked well or not.

Are you planning on having children soon, if not this is a good means of birth control.

What are you wearing while on the bike? I've never had the seat/tank area get so hot that it was uncomfortable to sit on the bike, and that's including 90 degree stop-and-go traffic with the bike's fan on 99% of the time.

Try outfitting your BVDs with heat reflecting tape

I usually ride around in my mini skirt. if not, it's my daisy dukes......but seriously though, if I'm not wearing my jeans, I'm wearing my work pants. (Cintas mechanics pants. the **** that's battery acid resistant, flame resistant, etc.)
