I vote do it all in paint instead of paint + decal. If you're going to redo it custom, might as well go all-out in my opinion. I wouldn't ever do a bike all dark colored like that if I planned on riding it all the time, but it looks slick!

I like it alot and if i ever dropped my bike i would paint it all black aswell.

I would put a red CBR decal on the front (as stock)

Here is some pictures of black bikes (i would probably do the fireblade scheme)

Black f4i on picture 2 is allmost exactly like what you are planning, change the white for red and put a cbr f4i red on the rear faring

I like the idea, go for it, and post pictures as you go of course.

(Side note, Aurora, IL? If so I'm in Warrenville and see you probably once every two weeks riding)

Been lurking the forums for a while and this is actually the first time I've heard of anybody in the Midwest, let alone Illinois! Hopefully I'll see you guys around when I'm out riding.

How is the build going? Black on black has definitely grown on me over the years and I dig the look.

Just to give a status: I have been amassing parts, I love coming home to a nice brown box on the porch. Once it cools down some and I have a break in the schedule I will start tearing down the bike (life is busy with two kids under the age of 3).

Side note: I didn't know DDM Tuning was drop shipped from China, I thought they were a CA company...go figure.

Looks like yours has come out the accident a little better han mine, But im doing the same sort of paint job over here in oz, im removing the large f4 decal on the side and changing all other decals to a red ,using a red bubble sheild and red reflective wheel tape, as well as painting the rims semi-gloss black, rear sets pegs etc, also tossed up the idea of a black or white with gold wings and decals and othe gold details. but over all think your on the money with what your doing.
