Argh....which chain tool?

Argh....which chain tool?
I'm a total noob when it comes to chains, and I've already used the SEARCH here.
03 F4i. Just purchased the DRIVEN 520 chain/sprocket kit, -1 front, stock rear.
Going to do the install myself. It comes with an "extra" link (master?), and it says that its pre-cut. So in theory I shouldn't have to cut anything...just clip in the link and call it good.
So just making sure that I dont have to get a riveting tool, but I DO have to get a chain press tool.
Right?

i think Playful was being sarcastic....you will need a chain press. They cost about 15 bucks on ebay. What it does is presses the master link into the chain. When you tighten the chain press down, you will hear a click, once it clicks then you can release the chain press and your done.

If you have a clip style master link you dont need any tools. I just put my new chain on the other day and just used pliers and it worked fine.

And no I wasnt being sarcastic. You can use a c clamp n a bb to crimp the master link. Have to be careful and not over do it. but it is a cheap way if you dont have the $$ for a chain press, or just a cheapass lol.

Best way is with the proper tools tho. Or a clip style master link, tho I dont trust those, others may.

Racers use clip style so they can change length quickly. Installation direction is important or it WILL fail.
Rivet or press style is better for the street rider. Install and go.
I don't recommend a C-clamp, too easy to damage the link
If you've never used a press before I'd recommend getting someone to demonstrate. My $100 MotionPro came with better instructions than the $40 tool I bought (none), but lack of knowledge ended up doing damage to both. I bought the $40 one first and finished with the MotionPro. Now that I have it, I will use it in the future but it's a beeeotch for a 1st timer.
There's a couple vidoes on youtube, not the best but better than nothing.

Thanks for the input guys.
I keep hearing "if you have a clip style master link". And I guess I dont know yet what I have. I figured it'd come with a clip style.
I'll let you boys know how it goes tomorrow
