Anyone ever use 4T Castrol oil
Hello all,
Just a quick question. I just saw this oil at a walmart. 4T motorcycle oil by Castrol and it was only $2.92 for a liter.
Here is a picture. It is the bottle on the right:
I am guessing that the 4T means 4 stroke? If I am wrong please correct me.
Have anyone ever used this oil?
Is it safe to use?
I have already purchased some Honda oil, but this could be for later since it is cheap, or is it just that, cheap oil?
Thanks.

Hey supersnake83, bought my bike shortly before my join date and immediately changed the oil in it with Castrol 4T 10W-40 (because it was cheap ~ lol). Roughly 1K miles & 3 months later, no burning oil and the bike runs good. I’ve used Castrol in my cars for about a decade and believe they are a good company. My attitude towards oil is that it’s not so much important what brand you use (so long as it’s a reputable name), as is regularly scheduled changes. That being said, I am considering using Mobil 1 synthetic in the future. Here’s a Castrol 4T link: click.
Hope you don’t let my footwear opinions affect future suggestions ~ lol. I’ll continue to wear mine until my tax return arrives

Thanks for the info.
Nice write-up on the fluid changes Incognito. Really nice to see step by step for how-to's.
I've got my work cut out for me in the next few weeks because I am going try my best to create the tapped metal rod that Axsys wrote up here: https://cbrforum.com/m_435016/tm.htm , try and change my oil and lubricate my chain. My brakes are okay, but I will change them in the middle of the summer before I get my inspection in July (which will be at the 3 month early limit here in PA for me).
I'll have to check on my coolant and brake fluid because the guy who sold the bike to me owns a shop and he fully serviced it before I purchased it, but I'd rather be sure that everything is fine before I ride through a whole warm season.
Thanks for the opinion. That Castrol oil is pretty cheap compared to the 19.00 I paid for the Honda oil. I'll be buying that oil to use for the winter storage later this year.

According to the manual, it is every 8,000 miles (after the very first 600 mile change) under 'normal' riding conditions. More frequent for when it is at higher elevations, extreme heat, and highly dusty/sandy areas. However, from reading the many posts, it seams that most riders who`s bike will sit through the winter will change the oil just before letting it sit no matter how many miles have been put onto the bike.

this may sound stupid, but how often should you change your oil?
