Another "Is this a good deal" question.
Hey guys,
I'm considering buying an 02 F4i with 4300 miles from a buddy. It has some racing mods, such as lighter (maybe figerglass?) full fairings (he said something about it being fully enclosed underneath), flush-mount headlights and turn signals, and some type of leo vince exhaust. There's a few more that I can't remember offhand. But I think quite a few of these 4300 miles are from some trackdays racing stuff he did, so I was wondering if it has maybe been run too hard?
It was laid down while he was moving it cross-country, so just a little paint rub on the right side...nothing serious. He works on bikes and says it's in great condition, and is asking $3500 for it. Let me know what any of you think. Thanks a lot in advance

Well sounds like you need to do your homework on bikes in general as well as this bike - not sure what you mean about flush headlights and fairings closed. not a knock just saying this isn't clear / accurate.
an 02 F4i with 4300 miles is low - I wouldn't worry about a track day or two if the guy kept it in good condition. These things are meant to be run. That would be like not buying a used corvette because the gun did a few rolling 3rd gear burn outs.
And we all know the only reason you buy a Vette is for the ability to do rolling 3rd gear burnouts.
Anyways $3,500 seems reasonable for a low mileage, good shape bike. If its a friend and it has some road rash I'd try to talk him down some though.
Regardless good luck - and take the MSF class if you haven't before or are new to riding before you get out there. Good luck!

Thanks man...I guess the "flush" was a little vague. You should be able to see what I mean in the pic. If not, he just changed up the headlights and turn signals. As far as the fairings, he put a full fiberglass body on the bike to bring it up to track standards. Other than that, like you said, it seems to be a decent bike, and I might try to get him to come down some. Guess I'll play it by ear. Thanks again!
Sorry the pic is upside down. No energy to flip and resave it...
