Another F4i rebuild thread
Bought my 2002 F4i for $1,000... needed new fairings, headlight, shift peg bracket, gas tank repair, right hand switches, kickstand, mirrors, and rear foot rest.
so far I have purchased everything needed for it, just waiting for it all to come in.
so...Here are some pictures with only the kickstand and right hand switches replaced!
will update thread as parts come in and are installed.

Funny, I always thought grassy fields were great places to ride sportbikes lol. Do you know the previous owner? Because that doesn't look like grassy field damage. I've never seen grass scratch frames or put holes in tanks.
And before anyone says it, I grew up in NY, so yes I know what grass looks like.

haha, don't know him. His story was that he was driving like a retard trying to pass his friend in the break down lane, and went down on the left side. Which explains the tank, on the right side I am unsure how that happened. This was it's second time down, hence the salvage sticker. Everything important was intact and straight and parts were decently priced, up here in NH salvaged F4i's are going for anywhere between $1,800 to 3,500 (crazy in my opinion, but it's whats available). It does have new rubber on front and rear. The $700 is including some optional aesthetically pleasing parts, like new grips, tailight, and some maintenance like oil change and coolant flush.
Going with a white fairing kit (pretty common on here, but I haven't seen any around me) and black accents, shooting for a nice clean look.

I would honestly rather of not had to put it back together, but definitely willing to do so and save a good chunk of change.
I was very happy he didn't go down on the right side and ruin the exhaust. It pretty much made it worth buying due to its cost alone.
Mechanically it is very sound, so it makes life a bit easier not having to figure out a non-running bike.

filled the dents in the gas tank, now just need to primer and paint to match new fairings once they come in.
installed and wired up new smoked taillight with integrated signals. (didn't look at the stock wiring diagram, but found out that the black wire for the taillight is not the ground as I would have thought)
installed new grips, old ones were beat and weren't the best looking.
