Default Akrapovic slip on need clamp on '01

just put an Akropovic slip-on exhaust on my 01' F4I.

It seems to bekinda loose, I can wiggle it quite a bit even
with the passeger peg hanger tightened up.Or is this normal?

Is there supposed to be a clamp where the slip on meets the header? Or just the spring?
There is no gasket, so it seems like it may leak at the connection?

just the spring. if you like you can use high temp RTV (copper tube) and put it on the pipes before putting them together.
there should also be springs on the pipe side...at least for the f/s.

thanks for input.makes me feel slightly better.devlzluv, if you could snap a pick of that spring to the header that would be great.

just seems odd that it is that loose, and no gasket?I may use somesealant just to be sure.

sounds alot better than stock. to me it has a very good smooth"race" sound, but not sostinking loud at normal
rpm that all my neighbors wouldhate me, but I twisted thethrottlea couple times last night after I installed it, and it
will scream if you want it to.

thanks for the pics, that is exactly how I have my spring clipped.

Its definately not coming off, guess it is just normal to have a little wiggle
if you move the can.

That's funny. Mine doesn't wiggle at all. Totally solid! The link pipe fits very well on the header. The link to silencer joint is extremely tight. I actually put ceramic anti-seize paste on it so I could get it apart later! Are you sure you mounted the can properly?

If it would make you feel better, you could put a wide worm clamp around the connection at the header and midpipe.
