Scorpion's not too loud deep at low rpms depth goes away above say 5k and it becomes more whiney

scorpion lets you hear your engine as well as the sweet sound of the exhaust! +1 on the whine!!!

I have a scorpion myself and love it...like they say at idle it does have a deep/throaty sound and it does go away a little bit at higher RPMs but IMO it's not as whiney as most people would say...

How many of these pointless threads are there on this board? An exhaust slipon will make your bike louder, it adds very marginal power. It all comes down to preferrance. The only way to know is to do what one of the posters said and hit a bike night. Nobody on a forum can accurately tell you what a pipe sounds like. What is whiney to one person is deafening to another. If you're going to get an exhaust, just get one. I'm sure you'll fall in love with whatever you choose to dump you $400 on just like the rest of us. It seems that most people here have done the research and found the 2bros dyno chart which is the highest gain for the F4i.

A general rule for sound is simply, the larger the exit the deeper the sound. You want the ultimate system pay the $3000 for the Akrapovic HRC full system for the F4i. You at that point will have the coolest exhaust on the market for this bike.

if you want to listen to a lot of pipes this is where to go.

http://www.sportrider.com/tech/146_0410_pipe_clips/

it has evfer pipe on there that you can imagine plus 2 runs from each pipe. this will help you decide.

I have the blue fade ti Scorpian, and put the "quiet tip" insert in - it's got a real low burble at idle, not too loud, I love it. The Quiet Tip really works without hurting the tone, had to drill one 5mm hole in the bottom of the extended tail tube for a set screw. It already had a dimple there.
