Anyone try putting acetone in their fuel? Or any other additives?

Acetone is supposed to help with the fuel burning cleaner and more efficently or something like that. Didn't know if anyone had tried it and noticed a difference. You can buy acetone for cleaning up fiberglass and no just polish remover.

saw a guy at work use a little acetone in an old 4.2L carbed jeep to get it to pass a tailpipe emissions test. it way lowered the HC and CO readings, "fooling" the machine. acetone is so not compatable with several types of rubber and plastics comonly used in fuel systems. i shudder to think what it would do to a fuel injected motorcycle.$$$$$

I have read on other forums of people using "acetone" in their fuel. There is a guy using 1 oz. of acetone per 10 gal of gas and "claiming " anywhere from 10 to 15 more miles per gallon as well as better throttle response and harder pull from his motor according to his butt dyno. This is on a car that already averages 30 mpg so he is getting 40 to 45 mpg. he has a personal page that explains his actions better. Although interresting, personally "I would NOT try this on my bike". His explanation of why it works is similar to what ika has said and he claims he has been using this mixture for at least a few years. Interesting reading material kinda like the moth ***** increasing octane. Be Careful!!
