Default Is this a acceptable price for a F4i in this condition?

I'm looking for a commuter bike and am considering a F4i, so I was at my local dealership, and they have a yellow 2006 F4i with 19100 miles on it. Few light scratches and dings here and there, but there are two half inch cracks on both left and right side of the headlight hosting right below the handle bar (the fender with the suction tunnel going on both side if ya know which part i'm taking abt). And I was wondering what kind of impact could have caused that kind of crack? A frontal collision? Would a side laydown cause this kind of crack, but on both sides?

Looks like it's got a aftermarket clear windscreen, and some aftermarket pegs and a Corbin seat.

Anyway, they are asking $4100 out of the door, and I'm wondering if it is an acceptable deal or there are more room for negotiation... Or, should I just go ahead and take an excellent condition 06 CBR600RR with half the mileage for about same price from my friend...

Your suggestion and input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

are you new to riding? if so, get something more tame.

if not, then go for the 600rr.

if you're set on an f4i, then haggle it down. it's a dealership.
they probably took it in for $2k on trade. if that.

Thanks for suggestion,

Rode a 650 cruiser for few years and felt it lacks the acceleration really bad, even after jetting and putting on drag pipes, only make it loud but still lack the power, lol.

it was the bike getting laid down. I would say 3100 would be a fair price due to the fact the bike got laid down, but if the damage is bad say 2500 and just pressure the uptight salesman a lot

Yep, I'd say it better be fairly mint for that price.

I would probably do some more looking...my 2004 that I've had for a little over a year was $4200, 3200 miles, and in mint condition.

That is WAY too much. I picked up my f4i with just over 10k on it for 2800 and it had some light scratches on one fairing from being dumped in the driveway.

Also the way you describe the upper fairing sounds like it was beat the hell out of and the previous owner liked to do wheelies. It cracks alot of times if you come down too hard on a wheelie from what I have read. But then again the f4i is a stunt bike of choice for most.

If you are looking for a commuter bike get a yzf600 cheap and comfy, and moderately quick.

$4k is too high, I bought my 2002 with 19k for $3100. Of course i paid another $500 for it to get inspected and serviced which the dealership may have already done, but my bike is mint, no scratches or cracks. If you think you'll use the bike mostly for commuting i would take the F4i over the RR, especially if this would be your 1st bike, neither are good choice if you're completely new to riding
