Default 87 octane ok?

According to the owner's manual, 87 octane is ok, but i've hear to use premium 93? Does it make a difference?

do a search...use whatever you feel would be best for your bike...and i'm positive honda knows what they're talking about and thus printed the manual with 87.
make an informed decision based on scientific facts...but all of the facts...not just a portion of it...
so take into account a/f, compression ratio AND timing...and not justify the need for higher octane based on compression ratio alone!

My S2000 says 91, the F4i says 87. My guess is that Honda doesn't say to use premium or regular randomly, they have reasons.

02 F4i

I thought my manual said premium fuel cause of the high compression..but I use
regular gas and have had no problems....just dont lug it.

I always use 87 on both of my bikes. Why pay more?
