2006 is the final year for F4i.

I find this a very curious decision on Honda's part.

Yamaha offers 3 600 class options: 1. R6: all out race replica 2: R6S previous gen R6 softened up (only a bit) for the street. 3. FZ6 semi-naked.

Both Kawasaki and Suzuki offer multiple options.

True, Honda has the 599, but that's basically F3 technology, and besides, I've never seen one in show room.

I gotta thinkthey've got to be working on something to fit into the F4i slot in their lineup.
Maybe this: https://cbrforum.com/m_238463/tm.htm

Or maybe they've gone back to their old "we are so good we can build one 600 class bike that does it all" philosophy?

Yamaha also still makes the 600R, which is about the same era as the F3, carburated, etc. It does seem strange Honda would just discontinue the F4i, since it shouldn't cost much to keep on churning them out on the same old equipment. The money on R&D,factory set-up,has already been spent, so why not?

At the bike show in January, one of the people working at the Honda display said she thought they might tweak it a little and bring out a 2008 F5, to be their less full-on race replica, more multi-purpose sport bike. But I think the truth is that people want the latest, baddest, racing bike, even for just profiling around the neighborhood or riding to class.

I find it hard to believe Honda is letting it die. This is a company that kept the Nighthawk and Super Hawk for years after they were relevant. The R+D is paid for, and you're selling them so why drop it? Better yet take a page from Kawasaki, dumb the older generation bike down a little and sell it for good money (and good dealer margin) ala ZZR600.

f4is are gone, make way for the redesigned RR to generate hondas success in the 600 dept.

I live in Nebraska and every dealer that I have talked to says that their sportbike sales are down, and cruisers are selling more. I guess if the dealers aren't selling then Honda isn't making their numbers. Focusing their lineup on the RR, and make it a faster better bike.

There is a brand spankin new Honda Hornet (599) 2007 that has the 2007 600RR engine tuned differently, it is not available here in the US yet, its called the Hornet in europe, I am hoping that the Hornet will become available next year in the US, that bike is going to be killer.

for those of you who have not yet seen the bike here is a link to the UK site:

I asked the owner of the dealer I frequent about the F4i. He said they are getting rid of it because sales are down and even though it hasn't been around long the technology is outdated.
