sorry for another "bike doesnt start" post but I dont have a manual with me and google doesnt seem to be showing me what i need...

I just rode my bike yesterday and today it doesnt turn on. i turn on the bike, the headlight comes on and everything but my display led doesnt look right and a red "F1" light is on and I seem to be stuck in neutral. the ignition doesnt turn the bike on...

please let me know what is going on with the bike. thanks.

Check to see how many times the FI light is blinking. Then you can reference the manual and it will tell you where to look.

the fuel guage doesnt come on like it normally does. i suspected the battery and put it on a trickle charger for about 2 hrs... then the bike started up properly after that. but... today its back to the same issue again!

The battery part sounds like a regulator/rectifier problem. Honda's are notorious for that.

You'd have to replace the rectifier. Try to charge the battery, then start the bike and check the voltage with a voltage meter. If it's slowly dropping, it's the rectifier.

These symptoms are exactly the same as my F2 and I found out it was a rectifier problem. I bought a brand new battery, fully charged, put it in the bike and it ran fine. A week later, the lights turned on but engine wouldn't start. The bad rectifier basically drained the battery while it was off. After I replaced it, it ran perfectly fine.

Lol and if you're still stuck in neutral, try rolling the bike forward and changing gears at the same time.

Try do a full charge on the battery or ride it long on the highway(stop and go traffic does drain batteries). If the battery still dies out, you might want to check the charging output on your bike's battery terminal. I think it should read 13.8 - 14.1v at around 4000rpm. It the output is low, your rectifier is bad, or else your battery is toast.

Dude your battery is probably just dead. I left my lights on while I ate at a restaurant, and then after my bike displayed the exact same symptoms as yours. If the engine won't turn over then your lights will just dim when you press the starter. Charge and/or replace your battery would be a start, as it worked after you charged the battery before!
