2002 Honda CBR 600F4i Speed Restriction
Hello all,
I have a 2002 Honda CBR 600 F4i that tops out at exactly 180km/h.
THe bike is a Japan Import so it must have some factory restriction.
Anyone knows where the restriction is and how can I remove it ?
THank you all in advance

Whoa I hope so thats pretty low. Of course your gonna get people to say why do you need to go faster .................................... But I hope someone comes with an answer for you. Maybe change the cpu to an American one ?????
When I reach the 180km/h nothing feels like cutting out, it justs stalls there .
No Engine choking or other erratic bahaviour on the.
I need to know what I need to replace exactly before purchasing an ECU and/or Gauge .
Was going to purchase a Powercommander v3 but some people told me it will not remove the restriction . Other options i found where the Niko G Pack . Does it work ??? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I have a Japanese imported bike and mine is also restricted. I have asked and no viable solution exists to work around the restriction. Its fustrating when the right hand wants more and the bike will not rev past 180kph. However, I have learned to appreciate the limit, as I definitely..no, absolutely would take it further if I had the option. The speed limit is 110kph here so 180kph means your flying passed traffic without the really high speed potential 'problems'...
So, I would recommend you enjoy it, unless you live somewhere where the roads permit higher speeds or track day the bike...and if you did, then I would sell it for an unrestricted model or another bike.

Yah my 97 Japanese spec cbr f3 does the same thing. I just picked up some 'US' gauges and CDI to find out if replacing them removes the restriction.
I'll let you know once I replace them and test the bike >

I've heard of some people bypassing the speed restrictions by purchasing a Speedohealer. Some ECU's go off the speedometer to tell whether or not it should stop accelerating. The speedohealer will "trick" the ECU into showing a different speed, and you can make it say a lot slower than actual.
