So does the headlight come on at all? If you blow a fuse before it ever comes on, it is your wires are probably wired wrong. You just need to change the wires to the headlight and that should fix it. Do you have a voltmeter, then you can check to see which wire is your hot wire.

The ballast is probably pulling too much juice when it restarts (meaning when the light turns off when the ignition button is pushed). If you're using a 55w HID bulb/ballast, then that is probably your problem.

Otherwise can't say for sure. I've run two different sets of HIDs on my bike and never blown a fuse.

I would think it is wired wrong. The standard bulbs are 55W also, so a 55W HID bulb/ballast should be the same.

Yea, somethin sounds wrong. I have high/low beam HID running off the 10amp fuse and have never blown it. Maybe its pullin to many amps, or you have a lesser quality ballast. If you are sure that it isnt wired wrong, try a 15, wouldnt go any higher than that, for I would fear you could damge wires.

No - a 55w HID will take a LOT more power on the initial ignition than a standard bulb, which would easily blow the fuse.

Also if it were wired wrong, it would blow the fuse anytime the bulb tried to ignite, not just when the bike is starting (IE it would blow once the key was turned on).

Sounds like a crappy ballast...

Here's an idea, you have two ballasts. Use the other ballast and test it to see if it is the ballast that is causing it. You only need one at a time to test it. If its bad, send it back.

if it works fine and is only on start up...try wiring in a switch and turn on your lights after you start up the bike...the initial inrush current might be the problem so if you have the bike already running it has little more current flow and might be able to handle the inrush
