Default 2001 F4i 36,000 miles worth it???

I know where I can pick up a 2001 F4i for 3700$. What I want to know is, if it were maintananced properly, how long would the motor last??? The one I'm looking at has 36,000 miles on it, and I dont know wether or not it will last, or whether or not its even worth 3700$. Im really looking to get a bike, my first one, and have decided on a F4i, but is this the one, or should I keep looking? I dont have all that much money either, so keep that in mind.... Thanks in advance for your help...

keep on looking. I'd say that's worth about $2000 with that kind of mileage, plus it's going to be 6 years old soon.

yea, do remember, it is a HONDA. IE: they will last forever and you can beat the hell out of them. 30K miles is a lot but it still has PLENTY of juice left in it assuming its been well maintained. it also depends on the area of the country your in, if you live north then it should be SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than that. if you live in the south like us texas boys where riding is year round then expect to pay more. but with 36K on it, i'de pay 2800 with a smile

it's a lot of miles, but i've got 37k and the thing is running like a champ.

i wouldn't pay 3700 for it though, and i'm in california...

at 36K just make sure he has done all the maintenance or most of it and is able to back it up...
cause it's basically your market...no onen really wants a bike with that many miles you know?

price is high...there is one with less miles in Sacramento for like 3500 with extra parts...only like 8K miles too...but anyway...

talk him down...because i'm sure he hasn't done all maintenance on it...also check out the tires to see if they need replacing...if so...talk him down some more...

at 36K, he should have done...

2 valve checks/adjustments or coming up on the second...and it's bling bling to have it done...
2 throttle body syncs...
changed plugs at least 2x...but in real world, at 36K i've changed over 4x already....plugs aren't cheap either..
about 10 oil changes...many lubed chains (every 500 miles)
bled brakes about every 5-10K, or once every season (so that's at least 5 times)
coolant flush every 10K or so or every season (so that's at least 3)
change fork oil every 10K or every season (again, at least 3)
brake pads...at least 2x already...rotors...coming up on end of life...
fuel filter? no one ever changes that...but i'd do every 10K optimally, but usually not until something is Fubar'd then you change it...
air filter...should be a new one by now...

so bring this stuff to him, if he looks like he doesn't know what's up then talk him down...cause if he didn't get the valves done, it's already like 400 bucks for that...and then another 120 for fork oil...all that other stuff you can do yourself...and tires...at least 300 installed.

so see, you got to put an extra 1K into it at least you know?

mines got 41K right now and she's still really strong...not as smooth as the day i got her, but she needs some tuning and valve job right now and tb sync...etc.

I really appreciate the input guys... I live in Washington, so you figure another couple months before I could even ride due to weather... So what does a 2001-2002 F4i with 0-15,000 miles run for in todays market? Or in the northwest of the country...
