Default 2 Questions

1. When installing a new windscreen how do you remove the fasteners from the stock one? Do I need to buy a new set?

2. If anyone has installed the tapeworks wing shadows on their F4i, did you remove the plastics to do it or leave them on the bike?

Just unscrew and replace, it's a 10 minute job.

And be careful. On my rr the screws looked like they were metal but they are actually plastic so of course I broke one and ended up buy ing 6 new stainless steel ones.

I just left the plastic on bike. I think it's better that way so the parts don't accidentally get bumped (if you were to take them off). It's a pretty easy job, just take your time and don't stretch the tape too much!!! If you have any questions, PM me.

once you have the stock screen off bike , screw the screws (if they're metal) back into the grommets ,a few turns and push on the screw. then insert in new screen by pulling on the screw while pushing on rubber grommet from the rear. so easy you shouldn't even need soapy water.

The easiest way to remove the wellnuts, especially older ones, is to remove them by pushing or pulling them all the way through the backside of the windscreen. Once installed, the brass nut that is located inside the rubber plug squeezes the rubber into a donut-type shape. This shape is semi-permanent so even though you can make the wellnut straight again by pinching the donut, it quickly retains its installed shape again. The lip of the wellnut, however is simply rubber. Pull it out from the backside and when installing on the new screen, push it in through the backside, lip first. And work the lip around a little bit at the time.
